Practice Focus:

Ms. Samuel is a British trained Associate in the firm’s Corporate Advisory Department. She emphasizes her practice in the areas of corporate and commercial law, employment law, agency, franchising, mergers & acquisitions, and construction. Prior to joining Al Markaz in April 2012, she worked in both the public and private sectors in Europe and Africa.

Representative Legal Matters:

• Advising a reputed Chinese Oil Company on its dispute with a service company without increasing the company’s outstanding liability for termination of contract.
• Advising various local companies on corporate ventures including compliance with labor law, the prospects, legality and mechanism of expanding/increasing capital and foreign ownership in the company.
• Advising various foreign companies on different aspects of establishing their business in Kuwait in accordance with relevant applicable laws including taxation, licenses, agency, civil & commercial procedures, tendering and employment law.
• Advising a Kuwaiti based holding company on its intended transfer of rights in a complex drilling related contract across multiple jurisdiction.
