Al Markaz wins a case against Ministry of Finance

In January 2013, our client, a reputable businessman in Kuwait, shareholder in a number of the major companies in Kuwait, was dealing with Ministry of Finance (MOF) - Department of Real Estate and Authentication, to register one of his properties. The MOF imposed unexpected governmental fees of approximately KWD 2 million for the registration procedures. Our team investigated the matter and advised the client on its conformity with the Kuwaiti laws. Accordingly our team acted on behalf of the client to recover the money paid to the MOF, and argued the case successfully before the Court of Cassation to rule in favor of our client and require the MOF to repay the charges to our client.
