Practice Focus:

Mr. Salakawy joined Al Markaz in May 2008 and is an Associate in the Corporate Advisory Department. Mr. Salakawy emphasizes his practice in civil, corporate and commercial legal consultancy, handling matters that involve the application of civil law, international trade law, corporate law, administrative law, real estate, construction law and labor law. He has developed significant experience in drafting and negotiating Memorandums of Understanding, B.O.T Contracts, Recession Agreements, company establishment in Kuwait, leasing and employments contracts.

Representative Legal Matters:

  • Advised a major investment company on the acquisition of a 90% stake in Kuwaiti cultural project valued at approximately KWD 10 million. This entailed conducting due diligence, designing the strategic, operation and legal structure of the acquisition, advising the client on the applicable laws and regulations in relation to this transaction, analyzing and minimizing the potential risks and liabilities associated or resulting from the deal.
  • Advised a leading investment company on the construction of Heritage Village, from the due diligence all the way to the execution of the construction agreements.
  • Advised a leading investment company on the acquisition of the majority stake in a renowned car rental company.
  • Advised on and drafted of the human resources policy of a major domestic holding company.
  • Advised on an ongoing project between one of the main Kuwaiti banks and an UK financial institution.
  • Advised a number of local and international companies on doing business in the Kuwaiti market through establishing companies and agencies.
  • Drafted and negotiated supply, distribution and sales of medical equipment on behalf of a renowned Kuwaiti medical company .
